Sure Fire Way to Avoid Jury Duty: Say You Work for an Innocence Project…

This article discusses the author’s trick for avoiding jury duty: He says he had once worked for an Innocence Project, and when he does, he’s “out of the box faster than s$it through a goose.” I don’t doubt that. A few years ago, when an administrator in my law school was called for jury duty in a criminal case, she was grilled in excessively about her history of interactions with, “those Innocence Project people.” They even asked her now many feet her office is located from mine. I guess several floors apart and a weekly “hello” in the hallway was too close for comfort, because she was quickly dismissed.
